Row 29: Ch 1, turn. Dec, 2 sc, dec. (4 sts)

Fasten off for the first side of the cactus.

For the second side, please move onto assembly below.

Alternatively, you give the cactus a more textured look and feel by adding bobble stitches (or puff or popcorn, the choice is yours!) to your cactus.

Please see the chart below for my placement of bobble stitches. Starting from the bottom right of the chart as sc into 2nd ch from hook. Count each square as a st. This chart does not include the ch 1.

This is entirely optional and would mean you would need to follow the chart more closely than the written pattern.

The darker green patches are for each of the bobble stitches.

Flower-

Using white yarn:

MR. Ch 4. Sc into 2nd ch from hook. Hdc. Dc. Sl st into centre of ring.

Repeat 5 more times for a 6 petal flower.

Fasten off. Making sure both yarn ends are through the centre of the ring and at the back of flower. Pull MR tightly.

Knot the two strands together at the back, leaving long tail to sew.

Assembly-

Do not fasten off the second size of your cactus.

Place both cactus sides together, you are now going to sc them together.

Ch 1, sc both sides together.

Stuff as you go.

Do not forget to add the rattle insert.

Once finished sc together, fasten off and weave in any ends left over.

Sew the flower onto the front of the cactus, the placement is entirely up to you.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

For added detail, cut a long thread of white aran yarn and embroider little 'x's onto the cactus. (For non bobble cactus).

You are now finished! Thank you for reading my pattern!
